Applicants for initial EMT certification in San Luis
Obispo County must pass the National Registry of
Emergency Medical Technicians  test.

ADVANCED PROTOCOL REVIEW (APR) COURSE
The San Luis Obispo County EMS Agency Advanced Protocol Review course is required for
Paramedic re-accreditation in San Luis Obispo County.  APR is offered 5 times a year in January,
March, May, August and October. Check the calendar  for exact dates and locations.  Class size is
limited to 20 students.   
Pick the date you would like to attend an APR course
Fill in the APR Registration Form including the date and location of course.  Without a date
we will not know which class you would like to register for.
Return by email, fax, regular mail or in person, along with course fee to the EMS Agency no
later than two (2) weeks prior to course date.
CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) COURSES
At least 50% of the required CE hours for recertification
must be in a format that is instructor based. Only approved
EMS CE can be used.  BRN or nursing CE cannot be used
by EMS personnel.  Make sure to check for the EMS CE
Provider # before taking any course.  For more information

MOBILE INTENSIVE CARE NURSE (MICN)
The San Luis Obispo County EMS Agency two-day MICN authorization course and one-day re-
authorization course are held throughout the year as needed.  Check the calendar  for current dates.  
A course registration form and appropriate fee must be received by the EMS Agency no later than two
weeks prior to class.  Class size is limited to 20 students.  
Return by email, fax, regular mail or in person, along with course fee to the EMS Agency no later
than two (2) weeks prior to course date.
